Wind Chimes—A Buyers Guide

Sunglow Windchime

Wind chimes are beautiful—there’s no doubt about that. However, what many people may not realize is that there’s a little more to buying them than just grabbing a pretty wind chime. You need to really examine what you plan on buying before you do so.

First of all, you need to consider what your front porch looks like. If you have a house that is very decorative, you should have wind chimes that tastefully match that. This includes the color. White wind chimes (for those that are decorative) are a very nice touch to any house. However, there’s nothing wrong with plain old silver.

Next, you need to look at the size of your wind chimes. The most tasteful way of doing this is to either have many chimes of the same or similar sizes, or perhaps have several that go along your porch in ascending sizes. Make sure that they are of a very similar design or, if you wanted to go crazy, you could choose all sorts of different colors and shapes, etc, in order to create your very own assemblage of wind chimes.

Take your time to think over what types of chimes that you want. On one hand, you may find that you prefer plastic chimes to metal or vice versa. Try and think over which you feel will look the best at your house and also what is the most practical.

You can find wind chimes several places: online, at the store, at your local artisan, or you can make your own. If you plan on buying your wind chimes online, then you need to take the time to check into the website. The problem with shopping online is that you may find that some—but most certainly not all—sites could be scamming you. Check into a few reviews and see what you can find on the site. If you can’t find a good review that isn’t on the site or you just have trouble finding any reviews at all, you may want to try digging just a little more before giving up on the site.

Take your time when you’re picking out wind chimes at a store. If possible, you need to see if you can look in the box to make sure that they chimes haven’t broken before you buy them. By taking your time, you ensure a better buying experience.
